Turn your website into a 60-second promo video with Claude

A step-by-step guide for Malaysian business owners: fill in one form, paste the prompt into Claude Code, and get back an MP4 built from your real website, music included.

Quick answer

You can get a polished product video of your website without a video editor. It takes three things:

  1. Fill in the free product video prompt on Prompt Motion: your website, what the video should say, the length and the size.
  2. Paste the prompt into Claude Code, set to Opus 5.5 with effort at max.
  3. Claude researches your site, shows you a beat-by-beat storyboard, then writes the animation and the music and renders an MP4. You change it by asking in one sentence.

You need a paid Claude plan (Pro or Max) for Claude Code. Everything in the video comes from your own site, but check it before you post.

The video we made with these steps, from our own tuition centre demo. Cerdik Tuition Centre is a fictional sample business.

Most small businesses know they should be posting video on TikTok, Instagram Reels or Xiaohongshu. The problem is making one. Filming your screen looks rough, a video agency is a cost you have to justify, and editing apps take an afternoon to learn.

The video above took none of those. We filled in a form, pasted the result into Claude Code, and Claude went through our website, picked the tuition centre demo, wrote a storyboard, animated the real screens, composed a soundtrack and rendered the MP4. This guide shows you how to do the same with your own site.

Why a short video of your website is worth making

Your website already has everything a good promo video needs: what you sell, who it's for, your prices, your screens and your brand colours. A video simply puts that in front of people who will never visit your site on their own, because they're scrolling a feed instead.

A screen-recorded walkthrough rarely works on social media. It's slow, the text is too small to read on a phone, and nothing happens in the first two seconds. The approach here rebuilds your pages as moving parts, zooms in on each moment the way a product launch video does, and cuts on the beat of the music. That style used to mean hiring a motion designer.

What you need before you start

  • A public website. Claude can only see pages anyone can open. If the part you want to show sits behind a login, you can give it 3 to 6 screenshots instead (the prompt asks for them).
  • Claude Code on a paid plan. Claude Code is included in Claude Pro (US$20 a month, or US$17 a month billed yearly) and Max (from US$100 a month), and not in the free plan (Claude pricing). You can use the Claude desktop app's Code tab or the terminal.
  • Usage to spare. Opus at max effort uses your plan's allowance quickly, and a video takes many steps. On Pro you may need to wait for your limit to reset and let Claude carry on. Max is more comfortable if you'll make videos often.
  • Time. Expect a while rather than a few minutes. Claude renders test frames, fixes them and then renders the full video, and you'll approve a few installs along the way.

Step by step: from website to MP4

Step 1: Open the product video prompt

Go to the product video prompt on Prompt Motion. Prompt Motion is a free collection of motion videos made with Claude, each with the prompt behind it. This one started as a product clip by @justincooperman, and Prompt Motion rewrote it into a fill-in-the-blanks version. You change the fields on the left and the prompt updates.

Step 2: Product: your business name and website

Type your business name plus your web address, for example Transfomind, transfomind.com. The address matters: it's where Claude starts its research.

Step 3: Focus: one message for one customer

This is the field that decides whether the video is good. "The services we provide to customers" works, but it gives you a tour of everything. One clear message gives you a story. Compare:

Focus · broad

the services we provide to customers

Focus · sharper

how a tuition centre owner stops chasing fees and absences on WhatsApp: parents book a trial online, get absence alerts the same day, and the owner sees everything in one dashboard

Name the customer, the problem they recognise and two or three things your product does about it. If you sell several things, make one video per service rather than one video for all of them.

Step 4: Brand and Ending

Leave Brand blank and Claude takes your colours, typeface and logo from your site. Fill in Ending if you want the last frame to say something specific. A call to action with your web address works well, for example Book a free consult · transfomind.com.

Step 5: Length and Tempo

Prompt Motion says 15 to 45 seconds works best. We went to 60 seconds because we wanted to show a whole system. For an ad or a first video, stay inside 45. Tempo is the beat every movement lands on: 100 BPM feels calm and gives people time to read, 120 to 128 feels punchier.

Step 6: Size

SizeUse it for
1080×1920 · 9:16TikTok, Instagram Reels, Xiaohongshu, YouTube Shorts, WhatsApp Status
1920×1080 · 16:9Your website, YouTube, presentations and proposals
1080×1350 · 4:5Facebook and Instagram feed posts
1080×1080 · 1:1Feed posts and ads where you don't know the placement

Tip: Ask for 16:9 first, then ask Claude to place it in a 9:16 frame with a headline above and a call to action below. That's what we did for our social version. One master video then works on your website and on TikTok, and the text stays clear of the buttons that phones put over the top and bottom of a vertical video.

Step 7: Copy the prompt

Leave Creativity, Pace and Polish on their middle settings for your first video, then click Copy on the improved prompt.

Step 8: Paste it into Claude Code on Opus 5.5, effort max

Open Claude Code in an empty folder. Pick Opus 5.5 in the model menu (or type /model opus), set the effort with /effort max, paste the prompt and send it. Max applies to the current session only, so set it again next time (Claude Code docs). Prompt Motion recommends this combination for best results.

What Claude does after you press Enter

The prompt tells Claude to work in a fixed order, and it shows you its plan before it builds anything:

  1. Research. It reads your website: what you do, who it's for, your real screens, your logo and colours. The prompt tells it never to invent screens, features or numbers.
  2. A through-line. It picks one object from your product (a button, the cursor, a mark from your logo) that changes shape from scene to scene and turns into your logo on the last frame. This is what makes the video feel designed rather than stitched together.
  3. A timed storyboard. A hook in the first bar, three or four moments of the product at its best, and the end card, beat by beat.
  4. The build. It rebuilds your pages as separate moving layers in one HTML file, writes the soundtrack in code (so there's no music licence to worry about), and renders the video frame by frame with Playwright and ffmpeg, installing them if needed.
  5. A check. Before the full render, it renders one frame per beat, looks at them and fixes anything cluttered or hard to read. Then you get the MP4.

In our video you can see how this plays out: it opens on "Still chasing fees on WhatsApp", then parents book a free trial online, get an absence alert the same day, the owner sees it all in one dashboard, and the AI assistant answers in English, BM or Chinese. All of it came from our tuition centre demo.

Changing the video in one sentence

If you don't like something, say so in the same chat. Claude keeps the project, so it changes what you ask for and renders again. Some requests that work:

Change the subject and length

Use the tuition centre demo, make it 45 seconds, and add the parent app and the teacher app.

Change the style

Make it 1 minute as one continuous shot, with no cuts between scenes.

Change the language

Make a version with all the on-screen text in Bahasa Melayu, using the wording from the Malay pages of my site.

Make a social version

Put the 16:9 video in a 1080×1920 frame. Add the headline "I turned my website into a 60-second video" above it and "Link in bio" below it.

Small, specific requests work better than "make it better". If a scene is wrong, name it by what's on screen ("the dashboard scene") or by its time ("around 0:24").

What to check before you post

  • Every number and screen. The prompt is strict about using only what's on your site, but you're the one posting it. Pause on each scene and compare it with your website, especially prices.
  • Sample data is labelled. If the video shows demo data, say so on screen. Ours carries "Sample data · Cerdik Tuition Centre is a fictional business" in every scene. Never use screenshots with real customers' names or phone numbers: that's personal data under Malaysia's PDPA.
  • It reads on a phone. Watch it on your own phone at normal size. If you have to squint, ask for bigger text or fewer words per scene.
  • The first two seconds. The hook should make sense with the sound off, because most people scroll with sound off.
  • The ending. One call to action and one address. Not three.

Where to use the video

  • TikTok, Reels, Xiaohongshu and Shorts, in 9:16, with a caption that repeats the hook.
  • Your website, near the top of the page for that service, in 16:9 with the sound off until someone presses play.
  • WhatsApp: as a Status, or sent to warm contacts who asked what you do.
  • Google Business Profile, so it shows when people find you on Google Maps.
  • Proposals and sales calls, as a one-minute summary before the details.

A video is only as good as what it shows. If your website doesn't yet say clearly what you do and who it's for, fix that first, because the video will repeat it. If you'd like help with that part, our web design page explains how we build websites for Malaysian businesses.

Common questions

Do I need to know how to code to make this video?

No. You fill in a form, paste the prompt and answer Claude in plain language. Claude writes and runs all the code. You will need to install Claude Code and approve a few installs (Playwright and ffmpeg) when Claude asks.

How much does it cost to make a video this way?

The Prompt Motion page didn't ask us to sign up or pay. Claude Code needs a paid Claude plan: Pro is US$20 a month (US$17 billed yearly) and Max starts at US$100 a month. Opus at max effort uses the allowance quickly, so on Pro you may have to wait for the limit to reset partway through.

How long should a business promo video be?

Prompt Motion says 15 to 45 seconds works best. Use the shorter end for ads and the first video people see. Around 60 seconds suits a walkthrough of a whole product or system.

Can the video be in Bahasa Melayu or Chinese?

Yes. Ask for the on-screen text in the language you want. If your site has pages in that language, tell Claude to use their wording, so the video matches what customers read on your site.

Will Claude make up features or numbers in the video?

The prompt tells it to use only what it finds on your site and never invent screens, features or numbers, and in our video everything came from our demo. Still, check every scene before posting, especially prices, because you're responsible for what you publish.
